About me

I’m Melissa, wife of Timothy and mother to one of the sweetest little people I know, Sydney Isabella

Welcome to the musings of a first time attachment parent, and military wife. Come for the ride while I share pieces of myself and my families adventures with you my friends and family:)

Here are some random facts about me:

I Love Jesus and my sweet little family with my whole heart.
I am totally neurotic about tons of things, parenting included.
I Love reading both to Sydney and for myself, I always have a book or two on the go.
I have an obsession with vintage children’s books.
I have a soft spot for whales, dolphins, orcas and sharks. It makes my heart hurt to see animals in captivity.
I love to teach Sydney new things everyday.
I am an extended breastfeeding believer. I breast-fed Sydney till she was 2 1/2 years old.
I love being a full-time mom and wife, I don’t miss or regret placing my career on hold for the time being.  In the long run I believe these years with my family will be among the best I have:)
I miss BC everyday.
I am teaching myself to knit.
I love to {upcycle} things.
I am pretty granola(ish).
I love to cook, and almost all things domestic.
I believe in a parenting style that is built on love, trust and a sense of attachment/ security.
I love to travel. backpacking is how I roll.
I am a words of affirmation type of gal.
I love recycled clothing, you should too!
I think my husband is hilarious (most of the time.)
I love photography.
I like things neat, tidy and organized.
I love the Arts.
I think that we can combat terrorism through education.
I crave change.
I hate running/working out, but love the way I feel after I am done!
I get headaches ALL the time.
I am teaching myself to sew.
I believe in letting the people you love, know how much they are loved.
I think we can make a difference in this world of ours, if we try hard enough.

  1. LOVE your ‘about me’ page!
    BOO on the headaches.
I hate running too, really any sort of hard exercise [except biking or a few other FUN things like that] but agree that the feeling afterwards is AMAZING.
LOVE it that you are crunchy granola just like me ;) and feel totally blessed that I know you IRL and not just in the bloggy world!

    • Thanks Pammy:) I feel the same way about you darlin, btw my friend Brie is telling everyone about your amber necklaces:) She bought hers for way more before you started to sell them, so now she refers anyone that asks her about hers to you!

Can’t wait to see you next sat for the Jolie party!

    • Thank you so much for thinking of me. I unfortunately can’t participate and carry this on. This simple blog is a place for me to share pieces of my heart and life to friends and family. I just can’t justify the time spent on participating, I hope you understand.I do however appreciate your thoughts and kind comments about my little corner of the web:)

      In kindness,
      Melissa

Your thoughts are always welcomed
